Profile

Anna Kozak joined Nemeth Bonnette Brouwer in 2022, with prior law firm experience handling labor and employment disputes and professional liability claims. With energy and enthusiasm, Anna focuses on labor and employment counseling and litigation in matters involving gender, race, age, disability, and religious discrimination claims. She also drafts employment and hiring documents, including employee handbooks, and has experience with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

Before attending law school, Anna conducted independent research on the impact of physical characteristics on the electability of political candidates, presenting her findings at the 2017 Eastern Michigan University Annual Research Symposium. She continued her interest in political research by obtaining a joint Juris Doctor/Master of Arts degree from Wayne State University, where her master’s thesis explored religious exemptions to generally applicable laws and their impact on the status of women in society. At Wayne Law, Anna worked at the school’s Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic, assisting low-income cancer patients with foreclosure and eviction proceedings, property tax issues, and the distribution and transfer of real property. Anna’s research, writing and advocacy skills enhance the work she performs for her clients, which range from large corporations to social service nonprofits.
