A triad of excellence in labor and employment law: Nemeth, Bonnette and Brouwer named 2023 DBusiness Top Lawyers

| Detroit, Michigan

Detroit – November 21, 2022 – Management side labor and employment law firm Nemeth Bonnette Brouwer PC (formerly Nemeth Law, P.C.) is pleased to announce that Deborah Brouwer, Terry Bonnette and Patricia Nemeth have been recognized as DBusiness Top Lawyers for 2023. The annual peer review survey polled certified attorneys throughout the metro Detroit area to find and honor the top vote-getters in 53 legal practice areas. Inclusion on this exclusive list cannot be purchased and is based solely on the number of votes received. All three attorneys were named in the labor and employment law category.

Managing Partner Deborah Brouwer brings a wealth of diverse legal experiences and practical wisdom to her client engagements. Brouwer’s labor and employment practice includes the defense of lawsuits against employers involving claims of race, age, religion, national origin, gender and disability discrimination, and harassment and retaliation, as well as FLSA, FMLA and non-competition suits. She also provides employer training and conducts discrimination and harassment investigations on behalf of employers. Brouwer has extensive experience appearing before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, MDCR, MIOSHA, OSHA and the NLRB, and frequently appears before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Partner Terry Bonnette has been serving the firm’s clients with integrity, creativity, wit and wisdom since 2004. His practice encompasses traditional labor law and employment law counseling, training, and litigation. In the counseling realm, Bonnette covers a wide range of contract compliance and regulatory issues, including FMLA, Wage and Hour, and the ADA. He is also an experienced litigator, representing clients before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators, on issues including employment discrimination, harassment, disability, and retaliation. Bonnette also created the firm’s ‘Raising the Bar’ educational series focused on increasing employer awareness of trending issues in employment law.

Founder Patricia Nemeth, of counsel, is an accomplished and highly respected attorney in labor and employment law—known to advocate aggressively but civilly for her clients. She has found career success as a litigator, investigator, consultant, and certified mediator, and now focuses her practice on counseling, investigations and mediation, serving as an employment and commercial arbitrator.  Nemeth’s areas of expertise include religious, ethnic, and gender discrimination, sex, race, and ethnic harassment, wrongful discharge, union organizing activities and multi-party lawsuits. Industries served include healthcare, nursing homes, retail, manufacturing, gaming, insurance, and government entities.

The DBusiness honor comes on the heels of other legal awards for the three this year including Leading Lawyers and Michigan Super Lawyers.  The complete list of 2023 DBusiness Top Lawyers can be viewed in the November/December 2022 issue.
